Nancy June Humick

Osterville - Nancy June Humick, 75, of Osterville, Massachusetts died on June 16, 2021 at her home after a protracted illness.

Born February 14, 1946 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Nancy moved to New Jersey during her middle school years. She met her husband, Tom, in her senior year of high school. After graduating with honors from Beaver College (1968) Nancy and Tom were married in 1969. A fine arts major, Nancy worked as a commercial artist at McGraw-Hill and a sales forecaster for TJ Lipton before leaving the paid vocational arena to raise her daughter, Nicole.

After Nicole entered Middle School, Nancy earned a Masters Degree in Education and served for 19 years as the Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Kent Place School in Summit New Jersey; her colleagues described her as a "leader, mentor, and friend" who "encouraged professionalism and excellence."

Nancy's favorite roles were as wife, mother, and grandmother. Nancy was the heart of the family, the sympathetic ear, the wise counsel, the encouraging voice, and the kind and trusted friend. A member of the Hyannis Yacht Club and the Ocean Reef Club, Nancy treasured time with her family on the Cape and in Florida.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas; and her daughter, Nicole Colson of Milton, MA, her son-in-law, Justin, and grandson, Tommy. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra L. Baranello of Long Valley, NJ and her husband Louis; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth C. Dickson of New Milford, NJ.

A private family funeral will be followed by interment in Cotuit, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Milton Academy Annual Fund, 170 Centre St., Milton, MA 02186 in honor of Nancy J. Humick.
