I am so sad to hear of Mr. Picciano's passing. My sister's and I all have such fond memories of him from our years at Valley View. I can still picture him standing out in the parking lot twirling his whistle on a string. He was such a kind and supportive man with a wonderful sense of humor who always had time to chat with the students. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathies - Susan, Peggy, Jeanne, Anne and Katie Lawler.

He was a fine man and a fine teacher. Though my Denville school days ended half a century ago, I remember him well. My respect and best wishes to his family and friends.

My sincere sympathies to Nick's family. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet Nick and get to know him. I always looked forward to him coming to the library every Friday and chatting. He always had a smile on his face and made us laugh. He was always positive and would encourage me to continue my education. He made a difference in my life and many others.

Sincerely,

An extraordinary educator, and a man who cared deeply about everyone of his students. I can stiil see his grand smile as he greeted us as we walked in his classroom. What a fine example he was to everyone. God bless his family and thank you for sharing this wonderful man with all of us for so many years.

Mr. Picciano was one of my most favorite people ever, and I am glad I was able to tell him that several years ago. I have so many great memories of Valleyview days, playing basketball on the driveway, playing cards in the kitchen, taking crazy pictures... and always laughing!!! <3
