Robert "Bob" I. Elms, P.E.

AGE: 77 • Mt. Olive Twp.

Mr. Robert "Bob" I. Elms, P.E., 77, died on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was born and raised in Staten Island, NY and lived in Kwajalein, part of the Marshall Islands, before moving to Budd Lake 42 years ago. At the age of 16, he became an Eagle Scout of Troop #38 in S.I. and then graduated from the Brooklyn Technical High School in 1952, later earning his B S in Mechanical Engineering from NJIT in 1972. He was a mechanical engineer who worked at Picatinny Arsenal as a Civilian Supervisory Engineer for 28 years before retiring in 1988. He was a former member of the Mt. Olive Town Council, served on the Planning Board, and the Community Dispute Panel. He was a former Scout Master and an Assistant Scout Master of the B S of A, Troop #312, Budd Lake, member of the Masonic Lodge F & A M, #410, Budd Lake, the VASA Order of America, Three Crowns, and was very active in his community.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Grignon) of 43 years; 4 children, Lisa (and Greg) Elms-Elliott of Canadensis, PA, Laura Jacobs of New Port Richey, FL, Kevin (and Doreen) Elms of Flanders, and Tara (and Darren) Henderson of Budd Lake; brother, Richard Elms of Bushnell, FL; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 2 nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Elms many years ago.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) www.davishepplewhitefh.com on Thursday, December 22nd from 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 23rd, 10 am, at the Crossroads Community Church, 104 Bartley Flanders Rd, Flanders, crossroadsmtolive.org. Donations may be made in his name to the Flanders Fire & Rescue Squad, flandersfire.org or to the Budd Lake Fire Department, www.buddlakefire.org
