Robert Ambrose Guinter died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 85. Born in Morristown, NJ he was a lifelong resident of Morris County. He was a graduate of Morristown High School, Class of 1944 and Seton Hall College. Robert was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army in Japan. He was a partner with his father, Bernard, at Ben's Army & Navy, Whippany for many years. He retired in the late 1980's from Herman's Shoes & Boots, which later became Stride Rite. Robert was an accomplished pitcher for Morristown High School, the Army and Seton Hall College. He pitched a no hitter for Morristown High School. He is predeceased by his brother, Bernard Guinter. Robert is survived by his lving wife of 61 years, Joan Markey Guinter and his children, Robert A. and wife, Teresa of Florence, KY; Paula G. Smith and husband, Craig of Meriden, CT; and James T. and wife, Danielle of Budd Lake. He is also surived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Morristown on Tuesday at 10:00AM. Entombment Holy Rood Cemetery. Hours of visitation at the Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Ave., Morristown (www.doylefh.com) on Monday from 4-8PM.
