Sharon Gentile Obituary
Sharon Gentile, 55, was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was born Sharon Gayle Conklin on December 30, 1958 to pre-deceased parents Wilbur and Ann Conklin and grew up in Livingston, NJ. Upon graduation from Livingston High School in 1976, she ventured out to Colorado to attend nursing school. She graduated in 1979 and has been a dedicated and caring nurse ever since. She moved back to New Jersey in 1987, where she built her life and raised a family. Well-loved by all who knew her, she devoted most of her years as a nurse to Morristown Memorial Hospital. Sharon had a wonderful passion for life and lived every day to the fullest. Whether it was earning her private pilot's license, white-water rafting, skydiving, playing ice hockey, riding her Harley, or traveling with her family, Sharon put everything she had into what she did. Her huge heart and laughing spirit will be sorely missed. She is survived by her son, Mark Magnusson, her daughter, Melissa Magnusson, her loving ex-husband of 17 years, Rick Gentile, her three brothers, Steven, Brian, and David Conklin, and her dog Moose, as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
There will be a memorial gathering in honor of her life on Tuesday, July 1, from 6-10pm at Calabria's Restaurant in Livingston, NJ. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the United States War Dogs Asscoiation, Chapter 1, in honor of Sharon Gentile, who loved animals with all her heart and supported the War Dogs Association in life.
