Thomas Peirsel Obituary
Morris Plains - Thomas Messenger (Tim) Peirsel, Jr., 79, longtime resident of Morris Plains, NJ passed away at his home on December 4, 2017. He was born to Thomas and Helen Peirsel on November 30, 1938 in Glen Ridge, NJ. He graduated from Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey and honorably served in the US Navy. A man who was never known to mince words, and who will not be easily forgotten, he owned and operated The Vail Bar and Liquors and Peirsel's Florist in Morris Plains, NJ. He married Suzanne Patricia Totten on June 10, 1961 and they were wed for 56 years. An avid golfer, he was a member of Springbrook Country Club. Predeceased by brothers Eugene and Steven, he is survived by sister Julianna Kennen and brother Michael Peirsel; children: Laure O'Keefe (husband James), Thomas Messenger Peirsel III; Melissa Peirsel; and his loved yet ever frustrating grandsons: James, Bryan, and Michael Allatta. A service celebrating his life will be held from 5-7 pm on Friday, December 8 at Doyle Funeral Home in Morristown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia or Carol G. Simon Cancer Center.
