Walter Connolly

WALTER CONNOLLY AGE: 67 JEFFERSON TWP. Walter Connolly died on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at home following a short illness. He was 67 years of age. Walter was born in Astoria, Queens and moved to the Lake Hopatcong section of the township in 1997. He was a member of Local 88 and Local 7 Tile Finishers of Long Island City for 25 years, retiring in 1993. He coached the YWCA Girls Softball Team and also was a neighborhood bartender part-time. Survived by his wife, Patricia (nee McDonald); three children, Denise Borst and her husband John of Wantagh, NY, Thomas and his companion Armistead of Manhattan, Evan and his wife Jennifer of Bellmore, NY; brother, Patrick of Astoria, Queens; three sisters, Barbara Cluckie of Lake Hopatcong, Nora Connolly of Sunnyside, Queens, Nancy Macomber of Palm City, FL. Also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren and Morgan Borst; Ryan and Emma Connolly; and many cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as his former wife, Patricia Ronacher. Visitation will be held on Sunday (10/3) 2:30 - 5 and 7-9PM at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. Funeral Services will be held on Monday (10/4) at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 204 Espanong Road, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849. Interment will be private.
