Audra passed on April 23rd, 2021, at the age of 37. The oldest of twins, Audra was born to Jerry and Valerie Nicholson Hauer (now Valerie Scott) on March 1, 1984 in Medford, Oregon. Audra and her husband, Rick Fhyrie, met in 8th grade, started dating as sophomores at Ellensburg High School, and have been together ever since. They joined the National Guard together after graduation, eventually being deployed together in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Ephrata, Washington, 1161st Transportation Co. in 2003. They married in Ellensburg in 2004 after returning home from overseas.
"While in Iraq, Audra encountered an anti-tank landmine explosion, for which she received a Purple Heart. This explosion severely altered her health and mental well-being, all of which she has struggled with since. She was told by doctors she could never bear children, but with her strong will and determination, and God's grace and mercy, she was with child three times: Hazel lost (miscarried) in 2010: her son, Avi, in 2018, who was stillborn at full-term-a perfect looking boy; and twins in 2020. One of these was a vanishing twin. Haddasah, the surviving twin, was born a beautiful girl, pleasant and good natured, now a year old.
"The family was living in Ellensburg at the time of Audra's passing. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Don Patrick, and Doris Nicholson; paternal grandparents, Jack B. Hauer and Audrey Hauer (affectionately known as "Tiger Grandma.") Audra is survived by her husband, Rick Fhyrie; daughter, Haddasah; mother, Valerie Scott, her twin sister, Da'el Hauer, and assorted aunts, uncles, and cousins.
