Doris Hahn Obituary

Doris Lottie Hahn, 104, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at her home. She was born June 16, 1905, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Victor and Alice Chargois.

She attended Washington State Normal School where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, and then transferred to Cheney Normal School where she received her teaching degree. She taught in the Seattle schools until she married William E. Hahn in 1939.

They moved to the Kittitas Valley in 1943 where they began farming and raising a family in the Badger Pocket area. In 1950 she returned to teaching at Denmark School, later teaching for several years in Ellensburg.

Following the death of her husband in 1991, she left the farm and moved into Ellensburg where she resided until moving to Federal Way in 2003.
Survivors include two children, Martha Roper of Edgewood, and Dr. William Hahn of Santa Barbara, California, and her step-daughter, Phyllis Pfau of Arcadia, California: eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren A memorial service will be held at Village Green Retirement Campus, 35419 First Avenue South, Federal Way, on Sunday, January 17, at 2:30 pm.

The family suggests memorials to Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way, W., University Pl. WA, 98466.
