George Day Obituary
Born at home on November 28, 1938 in Friday Harbor, WA to Geneva and George F. Day, George was the "baby" of the family. He lived a rambunctious young life with his three siblings, Henrietta, Edward, and Donald, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. At age 13 his family moved from Snohomish, WA to Ellensburg, WA where he later met his first wife, Stella Henson. They had three children together, Albert, Debra, and Frank.
He married Lois (Pat) Hendrickson, on November 13, 1965 in Ellensburg. Together, they had one daughter, Teresa. George is survived by his wife, Pat; brother, Donald (Doris); children, Albert, Debra (Dale), Frank (Yvonne), Teresa (David); grandchildren, Michael (Ashleigh), Carrie, Cambron (Jacob), Brily (Krista) and great-grandchildren, Leland, Lila, Olsen, and Grant, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
George and Pat were the owners/operators of Majestic Carpet Cleaning for over 25 years. Before that, he worked for Superior Packing Co., where he met several lifelong friends.
George loved to drive. His time as a truck driver provided expertise as the designated family "winter" driver, chaperoning his grandkids to work, the airport - he was happy to go any day, anytime. After they retired, Pat and George took the trip of a lifetime, spending six weeks driving from Ellensburg to Alaska. During retirement, George returned to driving, this time for University Auto Center. He continued driving through the summer of 2023.
When George wasn't driving, you may have found him golfing, fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing cards, working in his shop, or sitting on the couch enjoying a good western.
You're welcome to join us in celebrating George on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 2-4pm at Ellensburg Golf Course @ 3231 Thorp Hwy S, Ellensburg, WA. In lieu of flowers and memorials, play a round or two of golf for George.

George and I did dealer trades together and he helped me shuttle fishing guides on the Yakima. His favorite part of driving for UAC was the meal on the road. Lunch on the boss!

So many memories! When we were new homeowners, I asked him to borrow a tool. He said he didn't loan out tools, so he came over a did the job himself.
