Kelly Robison Obituary

Kelly L. Robison 64 left our world in the early morning hours of September 5, 2025, and transitioned towards his new life with our Lord in Heaven. Kelly was born in Ellensburg, on October 12, 1960, to Lee Robison and Pauline Corlett Robison. Kelly graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1979.

His greatest joy was trips to the mountains surrounding Ellensburg. As a boy, he would ride in the back of his father's truck with his mom by his side gazing at the towers of trees and the heavens all around the hills of Kittitas County.

During his life, Kelly has had a multitude of animals-cats and dogs-that would relax in his lap while watching TV or follow him around with his comings and goings.

He also enjoyed his shop, and everything connected to it. On most weekends, he had people over to work on cars or just talk and hang out for hours. He was known for having BBQ's or breakfast cookouts in and around the shop. Every year Kelly held a winter BBQ party during the freezing month of December, in front of the shop with a fire roaring in the burn barrel.

As a young person, Kelly worked at the bowling alley. Then he worked at various hay companies. Later in life, he obtained his CDL: driving trucks for several companies. He said that "he could drive anything." But the best part of driving was having time to talk to friends and family (hands-free of course), as he spent long hours on the road. Kelly loved many many people.

Kelly is survived by his long-time girlfriend Tonia DeVries, his sister Midge Standley, his step-sons: Richard Reynolds (Melissa), Buck Thompson (Brandy), and Russ Gramkow, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his dogs Mopar and Gretchen, and many friends, family and co-workers around the state.

Kelly was preceded in death by his mom and dad, his sister Sharon Huss (and brother-in-law Allan), his brother Jim Leupp, and his brother-in-law Ray Standley.

There will be a celebration of Kelly's life on May 2, 2026, in front of his shop. Tentatively, a breakfast cookout followed by a trip to the mountains in his honor.

For now, envision that Kelly is racing Mopar's across the heavens throughout the universe. Give him a holler if you need to talk.

Sad to hear of Kelly's passing. He had reached out via Facebook a couple months ago to just say Hi! Had not seen him since graduation. RIP Kelly
