RIchard Guthrie Obituary
As a young man, Richard served his country honorably as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army. After his service he devoted his life to farming. Initially, he raised a Holstein dairy herd in Rainier, Washington. Then in 1972 he moved his family to Ellensburg to establish a herd of Black Angus cattle. He also harvested alfalfa and timothy hay, corn, and wheat on the farm, a testament to his dedication to agriculture and hard work.
Richard was committed to his community. He volunteered his time to help others. He coached Little League and was an avid Kittitas Coyote sports fan. He donated produce and meat to the Kittitas Food Bank.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Wendy Stanley of McCleary, WA, Sam Guthrie of Callao, Virginia and Laura Gamiño of McCleary, WA. He treasured his eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Richard's legacy of hard work, generosity and community spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and were touched by his life.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Care June Faulkner and Ray Faulkner for their extraordinary support during Richard's later years.
