Mrs. Celeste Howard Hurst, 61, passed away on September 19, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Celeste was born on September 2, 1960, in Clarksdale, the daughter of Dean Blackwell Howard Pinner and the late Henry L. Howard. Celeste and her husband, Donny, owned and operated DC Tire Company in West Point for 31 years and she absolutely loved it. During this time, she also worked part-time with the United States Postal Service and retired after 23 years. She loved her family and her dog, Coco. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, sewing and doing crafts. She married Donny Hurst on December 21, 1981 in West Point. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry L. Howard. Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Funeral services will be follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating and assisted by Bro. Wayne Mathis. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Donny Hurst of West Point: one daughter, Angie Ray (James) of Southaven: one son, Donald Wayne Hurst (Amy) of Foley, Alabama: three grandchildren, Brittany Hurst, Kelci Ray, and Kayli Ray: two great-grandchildren: her mother, Dean Pinner of West Point: one sister, Ginger Gill (John) of West Point and her brother, Henry Howard (Paula) of West Point. Pallbearers will be Troy Creely, Jamie Kimbrough, C. D. Smith, Gene Gwathney, Bobby Boozer, and Charles Johnson. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
