Aunt Blanche was an incredible woman and role model. I spent a few weeks of the summer with her as a child. One day she took me to her office at the Daily Tribune in Royal Oak. I loved the newsroom, so much so that it inspired me to go into journalism. I have not seen Blanche in many years, but I treasure the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her. She was inspirational in so many ways.
