Nancee Fitzpatrick passed away May 15, 2021. She was born in 1934 in Mt. Pleasant, the second child of Bill and Betty Kerin. She attended Sacred Heart Academy, graduating as Valedictorian of the class of 1952 and was alumni of the year in 1983. She became a Registered Nurse after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Mercy School of Nursing, the St. Lawrence Unit in Lansing, MI. Nancee had many varied and satisfying experiences in her nursing career, including as a hospital supervisor at St. Lawrence and a family practice doctor's office in Okemos. She traveled to and worked in Denver, CO.

Nancee returned to Lansing, after having met a handsome young man at the wedding of her former roommate. Six months later Nancee married Edwin Fitzpatrick in 1960 and they enjoyed 56 years together. Nancee enjoyed being a stay at home mom with her three children and stayed busy with their activities and volunteering when the children were all in school. When the children were all in middle school she sought a nursing position at the newly constructed Burcham Hills Retirement Center in East Lansing.

Nancee furthered her education, became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and served as administrator of Health Services at Burcham Hills for many years, ultimately becoming the corporate consultant for American Retirement Corporation, who owned Burcham Hills. Nancee thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent travelling to many retirement communities in many states. In retirement Nancee and Ed enjoyed traveling, visiting many states and Canada on Elder Hostel programs. A highlight was their trip to Ireland in the early 1980s. Nancee and Ed spent many winters in Mesa, AZ. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, ceramics, music and dancing, swimming, and exercise class, and occasionally could be seen at a casino. Nancee and Ed were members of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and Nancee was a member of St. Veronica's Guild.

Nancee was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, in 2016 and brother, Bill. Nancee is survived by her children, Colleen (Scott) Kelly of NH, Michael of Marquette, Tim of Redford; sister, Diane (Tom) Dodd of CO; in-laws, Willa Kerin of TX, Bob and Kay LeFevre of Novi, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dear Fitzpatrick Family,
So sorry for your loss of your Mom. I think she was in my Mom’s wedding (Patricia Devlin) can’t ask her, as she passed away in December. My sister, Nancee was named after your Mom (she passed away 2 years ago). Wonder if that roommate was my Mom, when she met your Dad?
Now they are both in heaven talking about old times.
Thoughts and prayers for your family.
