Joanne Hildreth Obituary

Whitewater, WI - Joanne Kathleen Hildreth, 85, of Whitewater, WI peacefully passed away on September 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, who brought her immense joy throughout her life.

Born on May 16, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Fred and Lorraine (Mueller) Daubert. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and attended South Division High School.

On June 21, 1958, she married her cherished husband, Gerald D. Hildreth. God blessed their union with four children. Joanne and Jerry started their years together in Milwaukee and then moved out to Palmyra to raise their family and spent more than 30 years in the Palmyra area. Joanne worked for Cold Spring Egg Farm for most of her working career, retiring in the early 90's. She was hardworking and enjoyed her job. Joanne was a quiet, caring, and kind person. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh and her love for her family. Joanne enjoyed playing dominoes, working on puzzles, or a good game of cards with her friends and neighbors. She treasured family time and loved exploring new places with her husband, creating unforgettable memories. She also enjoyed being outside tending to her gardens. Joanne will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the lives of her family.

She is survived by: her loving husband, Gerald Hildreth of Whitewater; her children, Gerald Hildreth, Jr. of Pewaukee, Cheryl (Todd) Walz of Phoenix, AZ, Theresa (Dan) Riedel of Hebron, and Karrie (Phil) Houk of Palmyra; her grandchildren, Justin Walz, Amber (Adam) Wong, Chris (Lacey) Riedel, Rachel (Jessie) Schaefer, Samantha (Josh) Freiermuth, and Kristy Houk; her great-grandchildren, Hudson, Harper, Madison, Chase, Tayanna, and Landon; and her siblings, Kenneth (Marilyn) Daubert of Las Vegas, NV, Mary (the late Kenneth) Wojciechowski of Milwaukee, Dave (Maria) Daubert of Oconomowoc, and Sharon (the late Jim) Lamon; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glenn.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital and UnityPoint Health - Meriter Hospital for their exceptional care during her final days.

A private celebration of Joanne's life will be held at a later date.
