Lyle J. "Spike" Klockow
Johnson Creek, WI - Lyle Klockow, 89, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Lyle was married to his beloved wife, Bonnie (Vogel), for 69 years. Together, they raised four children: Monte (Sheila), Terrie (Joe Zanotti), Wendy (John Kopplin), and Jayme (Dawn). He was a proud grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of eleven.
A lifelong resident of Johnson Creek, Lyle was deeply committed to his community. He began his service as a Village Trustee in 1965 and later served two terms as Village President, continuing his civic dedication through 2010. As a member of the Economic Development Committee, Lyle played a key role in bringing the Johnson Creek Outlet Mall to the area-an achievement that greatly contributed to the village's growth. Lyle was also a long-time member of the Johnson Creek Volunteer Fire Department and owned several local businesses, including a grocery store and residential home construction.
Lyle's faith was central to his life. He was a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish, where he served in various leadership roles, including as President and Treasurer of the Parish Council, and a member of the Building and Cemetery Committees. Lyle was also a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Wendy Kopplin, sons-in-law John Kopplin and Joseph Zanotti, brother Larry Klockow, half-brothers Mike and James Bostwick, sister Betty Barrett, and half-sister Sherry Klockow. He is survived by his sister Carol Boettcher and his half-sisters Kathy, Vickie, Holly, and Heather (Klockow).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The family invites all who knew him to join them in celebrating Lyle's life and legacy.
