Lake Mills, WI - Randolph "Randy" Heinzelman, age 72, of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025.
Randy was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth, generosity, and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, always putting others before himself.
A proud graduate of Lake Mills High School, Class of 1971, Randy was an accomplished athlete and an excellent wrestler. His charisma and good-natured spirit earned him the title of Prom King - a reflection of how deeply he was admired and liked by his classmates and community.
After high school, Randy went on to earn his apprenticeship in construction., beginning a lifelong career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. He started in home building before moving to commercial construction and later specialized in hospital projects with The Boldt Company. Randy retired in 2008, proud of the craftsmanship and leadership he brought to every project. He also built countless houses, sheds, and many other side projects - often without anything in return. His woodworking skills were admired throughout the community, and his handmade pieces supported local fundraisers.
Randy also cherished his 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, which he had fully restored and took great pride in maintaining. In his free time, Randy enjoyed relaxing with a good Western, hunting with his brothers and friends, and cheering on his favorite teams - the Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Randy married the love of his life, Linda Jaggers, in 2002. Together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and shared devotion to family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Jaggers Heinzelman; his brothers Eugene and Carol Heinzelman, Clark and Kris Heinzelman; his mother-in-law Jerilyn Jaggers; his brother and sister-in-law Larry Jaggers, Laurie Jaggers-Roehl, and Tom Jaggers; his step mother-in-law Kathy Jaggers; and the Schuenke Family, whom he lovingly considered his second family. He is also survived by his dear friends Jack and Kay Bostwick, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Randy is proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bernice Heinzelman; his sister Kathleen Strauss; his brother James "Bowie" Heinzelman, his father-in-law Meredith "Red" Jaggers; his best friend Roger "Rock" Dehnert; and his godson, Bryan Schuenke.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Randy's life will be held at the American Legion Post 67, Lake Mills on November 6, 2025, from 10-1:30. Burial will take place at Rock Lake Cemetery, Lake Mills at 2pm. Please feel free to dress casually.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rainbow Hospice Care in Randy's honor or to the family.
