Opelousas - A Funeral service will be held for, Hushel J. Bordelon, on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA.

Mr. Bordelon, age 90, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Mr. Bordelon took over Bordelon's Store after his father passed away. He retired in 1991 after 45 years in the business. He enjoyed traveling, camping, listening to music and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by wife of 63 years, Frances Wyble Bordelon; sons, Randy Bordelon and wife, Vanessa, Rickie Bordelon and wife, Brenda; daughter, Cheryl Bordelon Coburn and husband, Gary; 9 grandchildren, Wendell Bordelon, Erica Lalonde, Brittnay Doucet, Monique Butler, Grant Coburn, Kyle Coburn, Tiffany Coburn, Derrick Coburn and Chase Hull; and a host of great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lilly Bordelon.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited by Deacon Dwayne Joubert at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Bordelon, Gary Coburn, Grant Coburn, Kyle Coburn, Derrick Coburn and Ronnie Wyble. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Bordelon, Rickie Bordelon, Chase Hull and Joseph Wyble.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Bordelon's memory to any of his favorite charities; The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's, The Susan G. Komen Organization, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The American Diabetes Association.
