OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at (time pending) on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA, for Mrs. Jeanne Quebedeaux Marks. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.

Jeanne was a native of Grand Coteau and long-time resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home of Arnaudville, at the age of 98. She loved her family, gardening, cooking, and baking. As a pastime, she enjoyed dancing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children: Louis Marks, Jr. and wife, Estelle of Washington; Verna Arnaud and husband, Rodney "Joe" of Leonville; Geraline "Sue" Willingham and husband, Douglas of Houston; Roderick Marks and wife, Glenda of Leonville; and John Dale Marks and wife, Barbara of Leonville; 12 grandchildren: Sheryl Carriere and husband, Donald of Opelousas; Ray Marks of Washington; Carl Arnaud of Leonville; Jenny Arnaud of Central; Fay Leger and husband, Mark of Leonville; Pamela Martin and husband, Donnie of Houston; Shelly Manchaca and husband, Todd of Houston; Karolyn Matson and husband, Scott of Flower Mound, TX; Myra Patin and husband, Dean of Arnaudville; Lainey Soileau and husband, Chris of Leonville; Amie Bodin and husband, Jeremy of Arnaudville; and Christina Melancon and husband, Tyler of Breaux Bridge; 27 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Marks, Sr.; her son, Paul James Marks; her parents, Leonce Quebedeaux and Marie Stelly Quebedeaux; and her siblings: Azelie Meche Blanchard, Elmire Stoute, Elias Quebedeaux, Joseph Quebedeaux, Saul Quebedeaux, Cyrus Quebedeaux, Clovis Quebedeaux, Leonce Quebedeaux, Jr., Evelyn Quebedeaux, Julie Meche, and George Quebedeaux.

Pallbearers will be Cody Arnaud, Kyle Arnaud, Sammy Carriere, Donnie Carriere, Beau Marks, Colby Marks, and Jacob Marks. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Arnaud, Darrell Ray Marks, Jonathan Bodin, Orry Patin, Colton Soileau, Clayton and Ryan Manchaca.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, December 10, 2012, from 3 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
