Mrs. Josephine Mamou

MARKSVILLE, LA - Services for Mrs. Josephine Mamou will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2017 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 120 St. Preston St., Marksville, LA 71351. Interment will be in St. Charles Barrone Cemetery, Grand Coteau, LA under the direction of Robinson Family Mortuary.

Mrs. Mamou, 97, of Marksville, LA, passed away on March 8, 2017 at her residence.

Josephine Mamou ws one of twelve children. She was born on August 27, 1919 to the late Joseph Williams and Felicien Barnaby Williams in Grand Coteau, LA. She moved to Marksville in the 1950's and remained until her departure into peaceful rest on March 8, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Her survivors include daughters: Theresa O'Steen (James, Sr.), Florence Jackson (Clifton, Jr.), Mary Johnson, Martha Allen, Angela Mamou, Shirley Mamou, sons: Joseph Benjamin and Harold Benjamin, step-son: Jimmy Mamou, brothers: Morris Williams, sisters: Juanita Green and Dorothy Guidry, 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 25 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8:00a.m - 11:00a.m., with Rosary beginning at 10:15a.m. at the church.
