OPELOUSAS - A memorial service will be held for Marie Orgeron Dawson, age 67, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the service.

Ms. Dawson, a resident of Arnaudville, LA, died on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System.

Marie did exquisite knitting and needle work and was a wonderful cook. She graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart School in Grand Coteau, LA and later graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Political Science from Oklahoma City University. Marie will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Dawson, of Burbank, CA; Peggy Rambosk of Havana, FL; Camille Dawson Moore and husband, William, of Sunset, LA; her sister, Jacqueline Orgeron Landrum and husband, Terry, of Arnaudville, LA; her brother, Douglas Orgeron and wife, Colleen, of Youngsville, LA and three grandchildren, Gabrielle Dawson, Tyler Rambosk and Kaitlyn Rambosk. She is also survived by 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edmond Orgeron and Louise Arnould Hartiens.
