Patricia "Patsy" Gremillion

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Landry Catholic Church for Mrs. Patricia Gremillion, age 84, the former Patricia Soileau, who passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:15 p.m. at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas.

Interment will be in Rosa Cemetery. Msgr. Louis Melancon will be officiating at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be Amazing Grace, You Will Always Be A Child In My Eyes, Go Rest High On That Mountain and You'll Never Walk Alone.

Mrs. Gremillion was employed with Opelousas General Hospital for 44-years as a nurse-anesthetist. When not working, Mrs. Gremillion enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and especially spending time with her family. When she was not cooking a feast for grandchildren, she was cooking for all of her co-workers at Opelousas General Hospital. Mrs. Gremillion will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bubba Gremillion of Arnaudville; two sons, Larry Gremillion of Arnaudville and Johnny Gremillion and his wife, Tammy, of Erwinville; one daughter, Bonnie Patricia Gremillion of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Allen Soileau of Arnaudville, and Floyd Soileau of Houston, TX; one sister, Irene Francois of Plaisance; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Emede Soileau and the former Artile Dupre of Grand Prairie; two brothers, Shirley Soileau and Nolan Soileau; and two sisters, Rita Schwartzenburg and Thelma Peyton.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Gremillion, Matthew Gremillion, Spencer Gremillion, Logan Gremillion, David Taylor and Nicholas Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Ledoux, Avery Gremillion, Chase Leday, Christian Davis and Jace Goodwin.
