Opelousas - Funeral services for Sibyl Lavergne Schexnayder will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in the Skip Montet Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Teryl Hebert will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Waxia Methodist Cemetery. Sibyl Lavergne Schexnayder passed away at her residence on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 70. She was a native of Waxia, La. and a resident of Krotz Springs, La. Sibyl was an outspoken, hardworking, tender loving, faithful woman who told you exactly what she thought. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Paul Anthony Schexnayder; her three sons, Ezekiel Eugene Bihm, Tommie James Schexnayder, Garrett Joseph Schexnayder; her two daughters, Melissa Bihm Oncale, Lisa Mae Bihm and four sisters, Ollie Pourciau Suzanne Guilbeau, Marylyn Trahan, Ruby Barron and Dorothy Guillot. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Candy Sue Bihm Schexnayder; her son-in-law, Craig John Schexnayder, Sr.; her grandson, Joshua Bihm and two sisters, Shirley Lavergne Beard and Mary Alice Lavergne Bihm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to sign and view the online guestbook at www.lafondardoin.com.
