Dave used to shop in my CD shop in Dallas in the 90´s. He was a good dude, had a good knowledge of all types of music. We spoke, but I never asked him any personal questions, but I knew he was obviously a musician. I finally figured it out when I saw him on MTV with Drowning Pool. I told him that I liked the single and he just gave me a mouth noise response that sounded like a muted thanks. I probably saw him one more time after that. I heard LTBHTF today and I looked him up. Totally sad. RIP.

I first met Dave when he was playing with Fugly at Boozers in Deep Elum, where I worked for 4 years. Over that time I got to get to know Dave and his former band, and the guys of Drowning Pool, who also played at the bar. Once, Dave dragged me up onstage at last call to sing "Add it up", an old Violent Femmes song for those of you who dont know, with him. Dave always made me laugh and so that is how I would like to remember him. He was a great guy and he will truly be missed. Its always a shame when someone with so much talent is taken from us before their time. I would like to wish the family my condolences in their time of grief and hope that they are well in their time of need. Sincerely Gabriel Roberts

I saw Dave/Drowing Pool for the first time in Lubbock back in October during the Music as a Weapong tour. Dave was a very powerful perfomer with such a great talent/gift as a singer/lead man. I was able and very honored to meet him. I only got to spend just enough time to get a photo taken with him and his autograph. I remember security was trying to get everyone out of the ampitheatre after the show and Dave telling them to hang on so he could meet some of his fans. He was very cool and polite about it. I know his fans meant the world to him and he did everything possible to take a few moments to greet as many fans as he could. Drowning Pool would have been here next month to perform....my 7 yr old son was hoping to see them...he is one of their biggest fans. We are all very sad about his passing. Dave will be greatly missed, but will live in the many hearts and lives he has touched. He was able to fulfill his dream and his music will live on forever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and everyone who knew him. May God Bless all of you...and may Dave rest in peace.
