Taffy was one-of-a-kind in all the good ways. I served on John Tower’s staff in Washington and Dallas from 1962 onward and had several opportunities to speak with Taffy on the phone. I’ll never forget her childlike voice which caused many of us to ask, “May I speak with your mother?” when calling her, only to learn quickly that we were already doing so. What a powerhouse resided behind that sweet voice. I’m sure she was well loved by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Taffy touched the lives of all she knew and her zest for life was incomparable. How I will miss this woman! Beautiful inside and out. Any good cause was always blessed with her presence. She will remain in our hearts and in our memories forever.
