CARR, Elzabeth Rush August 28, 1937 - July 16, 2021 Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Rush Carr, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother died peacefully in her home in Frisco, TX. With her at the time of death was Houston her husband of 58 years, her three children Houston, Kathryn and Chris. Her sister Karen and her granddaughter Ellie were also there. Betty passed peacefully with no pain.
Betty Ann was 83 years old. The cause of death was lung cancer. Betty was born August 28, 1937 to Lester and Olive Rush in Millville, NJ. She graduated from Millville High School in 1955 and later attended Goldie Beacom Business School. She and Houston were married in the Ghent Melodist Church in Norfolk, VA on April 12, 1963, making her a Navy wife. She and Houston returned to civilian life in November 1967. They made a number of business related moves finally moving to the Dallas area in 1993.
Betty was a deeply Christian woman with a warm and loving personality. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed good books, cooking for her family, gardening and artwork. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her four grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband Houston, their three children and their families. Houston and Tina Carr, Chris and Danielle Carr and their daughters Mackenzie and Amelia, Kathryn Carr Lopez and her two children John Anthony and Ellie. She is also survived by her sister Karen Henderson her niece Dr. Caroline Carr, her nephews Joshua Carr, Dale and Barry Saul, and her in laws John Henderson and John and Trisha Carr. She is also survived by her lifetime friend Barbara Miskelly Al Turki. She will be missed by all.
There was a memorial service held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dallas on Monday, July 19. Pastor Brent Maguire officiated.
