I flew many a trip with John Nyquist and he was absolutely one of the Best pilots and most humorous guys I ever flew with... When, he would see me.. he would immediately start singing the TOLEDO fight song for Univ of TOLEDO. as that is where I went to Nursing School.. and of course, I am a Buckeye as well. He could also immitate Johnathan WINTERS to a T.. and the Passengers.. absolutely.. thought it was Johnathan flying the airplane.. WHAT A TRIP !! LOL.. I know for sure where Capt. Nyquist is and God was pleased to receive him.. So, JOHN, I salute YOU.. and thank you for my wonderful memories and for touching so many lives.. while you were here.. RIP my big ole FRIEND.. What a fantastic person to be around. And to think we grew up only a few miles apart in Ohio. Bless his entire family as I am sure they miss him terribly, as will all who knew him.

One of the Braniff pilots' family bright lights who always added brightness to our days with that unique personality. What a pleasure it was to have known him and to fly with.

Captain Nyquist gave me my first ride in a biplane fifty years or more ago in his Buker Jungmeister at Kittyhawk Airport. I still have a photo of him and his Buker taken that day.

What a sweetheart to fly with! John was always so quick with his one-liners and jokes. We all enjoyed flying with Captain Nyquist and wish we could do it again.
Bless you John,
