CECIL, Shelley Lylene Shelley, a born again spirit filled child of the Living God and Joint Heir with Jesus, is now in the Presence of God her heavenly Father, Jesus her Savior and Lord, and the Gentle Holy Spirit sorrow for us but wonderful for her! Shelley graduated from Trinity Christian Academy and Westmont College. Her careers included teaching, retail sales, and physical fitness. Shelley's passion was spreading the gospel of salvation in Christ Jesus. She never missed an opportunity to share the "Good News" of Jesus' Amazing Grace and truly enjoyed the chance to do so. Shelley had an exciting, exuberant zest for life that was a joy to all those around her. To Shelley the glass was always "half full" or overflowing with positive and favorable possibilities. Without a doubt, The Lord greeted Shelley very early Saturday morning with a big hug saying "well done My good and faithful servant!" Our joy maker with her sweet child like spirit will be greatly missed! Shelley was born February 4, 1969 and entered heaven September 16, 2017. Shelley is survived by her parents Lylene and Jack Cecil, her sister and brother in law, Kristin and Dr. Steve Lytle, her nieces Remy, Chloe, Isabelle Lytle, and her nephew Luke Lytle. Her cousins Scott and Amanda Cecil, Blake and Melinda Cecil, Ashley and Jon Bull, Lance and Rene' Edwards, and Patrick and Monica Edwards. Her uncle Bob Cecil and wife Sandra, aunt Pat Edwards, and aunt Sandra Brown. Services will be held Thursday September 21, 2017 at Trinity Dallas at 1PM., 4300 Cole Avenue Dallas, Texas 75205. Shelley was my friend. She defined the word. Selfless love, shared laughter, and the courage to feel deeply while living brightly.

The last year at Westmont we spent together remains a special memory. It was an in between, disconnected time for me and Shelley brought so much fun, hope, and inspiration to those days.

Much love to her forever and to her family in the days to come.

Shelley is a bright and shining soul. We knew her through Luke's and seeing her every Thanksgiving at the Turkey Trot. She was always so friendly and genuinely interested in our lives. So sorry for your loss,

I knew Shelley through DCC. She swam there on a regular basis during the summer. She always had a smile on her face, a pleasant word, conversation if you desired and silence if you preferred. She was such a delightful person, she will be sorely missed. I did so enjoy my talks with her. My condolences to the Cecil family and to all of you who never got to meet Shelley, I am truly sorry. You missed a one in a million.

A couple of years ago I walked into Lukes locker only to be met by someone who knew my name first and last, and was saying it out loud across a crowded room. It was Shelley, and she was gracious enough to gently remind me who she was. Even then in the middle of a retail store she was telling me about going to the State Fair of Texas to pass along to people the only thing in this life that really has any value. The only thing that is truly a free gift, on this earth , but not without cost. A relationship with Jesus Christ. Shelley was about Gods Business.

What a precious friend and beloved sister in Christ, partner in sharing the gospel - so going to miss Shelley! Her enthusiasm was contagious! She absolutely loved sharing Jesus with others through her super fun, super creative bookmarkers - she had one for every holiday you can think of :) always with a piece of candy attached, usually a "life saver". She couldn't keep this best ever gift to herself of the new life she enjoyed in a personal joyful relationship with the Lord Jesus - she just had to share it giving birth to all of her bookmarkers in sharing the good new of Jesus Christ! "For God so loved YOU that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everylasting life." based on John 3:16 and she like to personalize the verse with the person's name she was giving it to. Soooooo going to miss Shelley, loved her! She has finished her race and work for the Lord Jesus on earth and now enjoying Jesus face to face!

25 years of friendship and part of the best memories of our lives, you will be missed. Those memories automatically put a smile on our faces (and usually bring a belly laugh when we share the stories with others). May God bless Shelley's family and friends as we understand this is His will.

I am one of many who considers herself lucky to have crossed paths with Shelley. She had a light about her that wrapped you in both her warmth and joy.
Tiny as she was, Shelley left a huge impact on all those she met and we are all better for having shared in her grace.

I am so saddened to hear about Shelley's passing, but so glad to know she's in the lap of her Lord and Savior. I have only known Shelley a little more than a year, but I have such a fond memory of her as we were paired as opponents in a golf tournament in May of 2016. She was a delight to play with and I instantly felt as if we'd been friends for many years, not just for 18 holes of golf! We had instant rapport and I would run into her at Luke's, DCC, and other places in the last year & we would laugh about our golf game! Anyway, she has a permanent place in my heart and I will always remember her fondly. God Bless, my dear friend. You'll be sorely missed. Gail

I knew Shelley thorugh the Luke's Store, and whenever I would volunteer for packet pickup, she would be there and always talked with me about all kinds of wonderful subjects. She was a delightful woman full of energy and positiveness and loved the Lord. I will miss her very much, but she is now with the Lord and I'm sure quite content. God Bless you Shelley.

I did so admire Shelley's exuberant enthusiasm to love as Jesus loved both in times of joy and in times of challenge. How fortunate I was to have her on staff at Camp Balcones Springs for 3 summers! Marietta Scurry Johnson
