Anne MacKenzie Obituary
Anne Gibb MacKenzie of New Canaan, Captiva and Vero Beach, born September 19, 1931 in West Hartford, CT, passed away surrounded by family on November 4th 2023. She married William John MacKenzie Jr. (1929-2006) from Lake Forest, Illinois and they had a wonderful, loving marriage for 54 years. She is survived by her four children Bill, Peter, Stephen (Lisa Deeds) and Blair (Bradlee Van Brunt). She was affectionately called Gigi by her nine grandchildren Will, Alex, Erin, Gwen (Troy), Tucker; Reed (Christen), Scotty, Teddy (Olivia); Graham (Nicole), Drew (Nikki), Stuart (Blake); Nina (Russ), Bradlee, Gracie and 11 great-grandchildren Dakota, Maclan, Elsie; Walker; Callum, Aidan, Sadie; Lila, Allie; Logan and Kayleigh. After attending Renbrook School, and Miss Porter's School. Anne was always quietly involved in helping others with her contributions and volunteer work with Miss Porter's School Bulletin, Horizons for Kids at the New Canaan Country School, Waveny Gardens in New Cannan, and the New Canaan Garden Club for 40 years. She received her Landscape Design Certificate from the New York Botanical Garden School for Horticulture and Landscape Design and created and ran MacKenzie Landscaping for 25 years. Anne traveled extensively with her husband, Bill, and she loved tennis, golf, shelling and fly-fishing. Anne will be remembered for her grace, kindness and beauty. A memorial service will be held in 2024 to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your local food bank.
