Wallace, Marie Helene
Marie Wallace died peacefully on September 11, 2013 at Norwalk Hospital. Marie was active until her final hours and had celebrated her Granddaughter's birthday just days before her passing. She was 94 years old.
A former resident of Mantoloking, NJ, Marie moved to Darien, CT in 2000 and was a parishioner at St. Luke's Church.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ on October 11, 1918, Marie was a graduate of Battin High School and attended Drake College. She was later employed as an actuary at the Prudential Insurance Company before her marriage to Michael E. Wallace in 1941.
A devoted wife and mother, Marie was active in the Girl Scouts, the Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head, NJ and St. Luke's Parish in Darien, CT. Marie pursued her passion for cooking and baking in her later years and her confectionary and artisan baked goods became a fixture at community and church events.
She is survived by her children, Carol Hanley of Point Pleasant, New Jersey and her son Michael Wallace and six loving grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 25, at Saint Luke's Parish, Darien, CT.

Death is always such a hurtful experience, yet, we all pay that heavy price as long as we live in this system of things. Have faith this too shall pass when the righteous new system will be ushered in. May peace be restored to you and family.
