Michelle Anna Proulx
Michelle Anna Proulx, 71, of Narragansett, passed away at home surrounded by her family on November 22, 2025.
Michelle married the love of her life Charles "Chuck" Connell and they were together for over 45 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children who meant the world to her: Daniel, and his wife Natalie, and Gerianne. She is also survived by her close-knit siblings and their families: brother, Lawrence (Lysiane) and three sisters, Marie Mersereau (Mark), Carolyn and Jacqueline Farrell (Bernard), along with seven adored nieces and nephews.
Michelle was a daughter of Mary Tennyson Proulx and Gerard Clement Proulx. She grew up in Pawtucket and was a proud "St. Teresa's girl." She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and earned an MBA from NYU while working full-time. Michelle and Chuck married on the Brown campus in 1980. Life took them to New York City, where she didn't miss a good Broadway show, then to London, where she made the most of her time in Europe traveling with friends and family, and to Darien, CT where she and Chuck raised their children.
Michelle loved sharing special occasions and genealogical discoveries with her family. She was a consummate baker, expert seamstress, and loved a good coinkidink. Michelle was a proud Rhode Islander, and especially enjoyed the Narragansett beaches from childhood on.
The family would like to thank all of the health care providers that tended to Michelle, especially the Brown University Health Cancer Institute team at Rhode Island Hospital and in East Greenwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea on December 5th at 10:30 a.m. The burial will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Brown University Health Cancer Institute. For condolences, visit
