Peter Lombardo Obituary

Peter Lombardo
5/9/2024
Peter A. Lombardo, formerly of Darien, CT, passed away on May 9, 2024. He was 87. Mr. Lombardo is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Sun City West, AZ, his brother Donald and Donald's wife Karlene, of Danbury, CT, as well as two sons: Peter, of Moorpark, CA, and Dean, of Round Hill, Virginia. Mr. Lombardo is also survived by two grown grandchildren, Maya and Ty Lombardo, of Virginia.
The son of Peter and Josephine Lombardo, formerly of Henry Street in Darien, Mr. Lombardo was the second-born of four brothers. He was predeceased by older brother, Gus, and also Carmen Lombardo, both of Darien.
Mr. Lombardo was a graduate of Darien High School, a member of the Connecticut National Guard, and a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1959 to 1963. He owned and operated a paving and construction company in the 1960s and 1970s and built family homes in Fairfield County in the 1980s. He married Christine (nee Hickey) Lombardo and raised a family in nearby Norwalk.
Mr. Lombardo later moved to Wilton, CT, and established himself as an equestrian goods supplier with a shop in the Wilton town center. In the 1990s, he moved to Boise, Idaho, to run a monogramming and sports apparel business, before retiring to Arizona, where he spent the remainder of his life, taking pride in woodworking and painting, which reflected his appreciation of animals and nature.
There will be no memorial service. Mr. Lombardo's family asks that any contributions in their father's name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
