Peter Sterne Obituary

Peter Woods Sterne Sr passed away on Friday at his home in Old Greenwich, after suffering sudden cardiac arrest He was 57-years-old In accordance with his wishes, his organs were donated to the New England Organ Bank to help those in need

Peter, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, was the son of Richard Guy Sterne and the late Barbara Kenyon Sterne He graduated from Greenwich High School and the University of Maine, summa cum laude, then worked at Greenwich Associates for over three decades, before leaving to create his own consulting firm

In his free time, Peter enjoyed sailing on Long Island Sound, skiing, and playing fetch with his two dogs, Skipper and Gilligan (His cat, Thurston B Howell III, refused to fetch)

Peter is survived by his wife, Priscilla (née Pitney); their two sons, Peter Jr and Jack (of Brooklyn, NY); his father, Richard Sr and sister, Hillary (of Tiverton, RI); and his brother, Richard Jr (of Ijamsville, MD)

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 20, from 4 to 8 pm at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820 A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Saturday, October 21, at 11 am, at Lawrence Funeral Home

Peter was a strong believer in the importance of education and his family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Regis High School, the all-scholarship Jesuit school in Manhattan that educated both of his sons Donations should be addressed to: The Hearn Speech and Debate Society, c/o Regis High School, 55 East 84th Street, New York, NY 10028
