Alex ENGLE

1931 - 2017

ENGLE, Alex 86, of Springfield, OH passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at home surrounded by family. He was born April 5, 1931 in Dwarf, Kentucky the son of the late Benjamin and Polly (Davis) Engle and was named after his Uncle Alex Engle. He is survived by his wife Alberta (Caudill) Engle with whom he has been married to for 66 years. They were married on December 21, 1950 in Combs, KY. Together they ran Engle Furniture Store in Springfield, OH for over 30 years. He retired from Morris Bean Company in 1994 after over 40 years. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Linda & David Hayes and Regina & Richard Rollins of Springfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren with whom loved him dearly, Tina (Hayes) & David Cowan, Tim & April Hayes, Katie (Hayes) & Justin Kline, Alexandra Rollins, Nicholas Rollins, Christine Rollins and Richard Rollins; three great-grandchildren, Lizzy and Josh Hayes & Hadlee Kline. He is preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Alex will then be transported to Hazard, Kentucky for funeral and burial. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home, Hazard, KY with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Engle Cemetery at Trace.
