Barbara Schwieterman Obituary
Barbara Ann Schwieterman (Dorsten) a devoted wife, mother, grandma, Mimi and friend passed away at Hospice on September 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Barb was preceded in death by her parents August and Bernadine Dorsten; her siblings Paul, Bob, Patricia, Charlotte, and Jerry; and her loving husband of 60 years, Gene. Barb is survived by her brothers Victor and Ron (Sue); her children Greg and Lisa (Evans), Arlene and John Davis, Mark and Mary (Kurpiel) and Gary and Jennifer (Elza). Left to carry on Barb's legacy of love and compassion are her 12 grandchildren, Alex (Naomi), Chris (Lindsay), Zachary (Kyle), Megan (John), Jonathon, Ben (MacKenzie), Adam (Ashley), Gus (Lauren), Sara, Michael (Brooke), Sam (Abby) and Becky; and 18 great-grandchildren, Emmett, Tate, Kate, Emily, Anna, Colt, Bryne, Blair, Theo, Murphy, Callum, Beau, Grant, Luke, Noah, Bentley and two new additions coming soon. Barb cherished her many friends from St. Anthony's and St. Joe's. She enjoyed many porch parties, lake trips, and weekend getaways with the gang from St. Nicholas. Barb enjoyed a lengthy career as a beautician and especially enjoyed working side-by-side with her daughter at the family business – Gambeg's Design. Mom's hobbies were baking (we will always remember her cinnamon rolls), and anything involving her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barb and Gene loved taking the grandchildren to local state parks for a day of swimming and family fun. Barb was dedicated to building memories with friends and family. She maintained and created "traditions" that we are certain will be continued by those that survive her. A special thanks to Hospice of Dayton for their compassionate end of life care. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 21 from 4-7pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton and St. Charles Borromeo Church.
