GROFF, Becky of Lake Murray passed away on January 29, 2005 at her home following a long illness. Born Bessie Louise Evans on January 5, 1933 in Wolf Summit, W.VA., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bly Bailey Evans. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Robert F. Groff, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy L. and Charles Wourms of Beavercreek, OH; sons, David R. Groff and David M. Stewart of Irmo; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tracy Groff of Lexington; grandchildren, Danielle and Michael Wourms of Beavercreek; sisters, Wilma Jean Hoover of W.VA, Elizabeth Lee Gilbert of FL, Shirley Ann McIntire of SC, Alfreda Bly Jackson of OH; and brother, Donnie Ray Evans of FL. She is preceded in death by her son, Gary R. Groff; sisters, Thelma Pearl Tucker, Mary Jean Deal and Edna Ruth Blauch; brothers, Elmer Joe and Alfred Clarence Evans. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother by her family and by her many friends and customers who visited at the Groff Jewelry Store. She is and will be greatly missed. Memorial services will not be conducted here but in Canton, OH. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her honor may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 2711 Middleburg Dr., Ste 205, Columbia, SC 29204.
