HIGGINS, Bessie M. (Maw Maw) 59 of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Apr. 3, 2008, following a lengthy illness. She is a native of Decatur, Alabama and a resident of Dayton, Oh for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many. Bessie was born to the late James Harraway and Magnolia Malone. Bessie loved to go to bingo and fishing. She is preceded in death by her father: James Harraway, brother: Wallace Harraway Sr., grandson: Angelo Kendrick Jr., husband: Clarence. She leaves behind her, mother: Magnolia Malone, (1) brother: Junior Harraway, (1) daughter: Kimetria Michelle Higgins (Angelo), 3 sons: James Harraway (Stacey) of Worcester, Mass., Rodney Higgins (Precious), and her baby boy: Antonio Higgins (Tasha), 3 stepchildren: Tanisha O'Bannon (Larry), Clarence Taylor and Yolonda Todd, all of Dayton, 14 grandchildren, special granddaughter: Ashlee, and 4 great-grandchildren, special friends: Vanessa, Trina, Robin, Terry and Bobby, many other relatives and friends. Services: Wed., April 9, 2008, 11 a.m., Bowman Funeral Chapel - South, 2060 Germantown St. Viewing: 9 a.m. until time of service. Family will receive friends 1 hr. prior to service. Officiating: Rev. Jim McPherson; Final Resting Place: Cremation.

Thank you to all that stopped to comment to our family in our loss. My mom is gone and I'm so lost, but I know that she suffers no more. She was truely my best friend and I miss her beyond any words I could find to describe my feelings. My heart aches at the thought, but I just try to replace the saddness with the happy memories of her love and support. I miss you mommy, and to all that sent a thought, a prayer, a card, or a sincere word our family truely thanks you. Until we meet again I LOVE YOU MOM.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MRS. BESSIE MAY HIGGINS OUR DEAR FAMILY MEMBER AND FRIEND. HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST. WITH TEAR FILLED EYES WE WATCHED THEM, SUFFER AND FADE AWAY. ALTHOUGH WE LOVED THEM DEEPLY, WE COULD NOT MAKE THEM STAY. A GOLDEN HEART STOPPED BEATING,HARD WORKING HANDS PUT TO REST. GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE TO US, HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST.
