I am so very sorry to read of the loss of such a young and kind-hearted man. I hope reflecting on the future promise of being reunited with Brett under peaceful conditions brings a measure of comfort to you in this sad time (John 6:40). My heart goes out to you all.

Coach Kellis is right. I remember Brett always proud to be wearing his Monroe blue and gold. He was a wonderful young man and a great ambassador for MHS. He will be missed.

Peggy, we go back 50+ yrs and we've been through a lot but this is the toughest thing I could even imagine. My heart hurts for you all and I wish I could take it away but I can't. I can love you all and pray God will give you the peace and comfort you need through these days. Know that my heart is with you and my arms are around you. Love, your friend, Kay Buhrow

My fondest memories will be of watching CHEESE proudly wear the Navy and Gold for the Monroe Hornets on Friday nights. I will always also remember him being at the hospital anytime one of his teammates or classmates was injured. He had such a great heart for others. His smiling face and tenderness for other people will never ever be forgotten. I will truly miss you # 70. Coach Kellis
