Family-Placed Obituary
SHIELDS, Carl E. of Dayton passed away Friday, June 11, 2004 at Harborside Nursing Home. A native of Dayton, he was a former employee of Durion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Mattie Shields. He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Florence Cunningham of Dayton, aunt, Gladys Skepper of Babson Park, FL, close relative, Joyce Shepherd, and close friends, Margaret Spearman & Reverend Stephen Cunningham. Sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Mary Cunningham, Tammy Herring, David, John & Mike Cunningham, and numerous cousins and friends. Funeral Service, 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the McLin Funeral Chapel/Northern Hills, 2801 N. Gettysburg Avenue. Reverend Joe Baldwin & Reverend Stephen Cunningham co-officiants. Interment: Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. The family extends a special "thank you" to the staff of Harborside Nursing Home for their care and support.
