Carol Geisel Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

GEISEL, Carol (Brasher) entered this world in Dayton on April 2, 1946 in Dayton to George Brasher and Josephine Revak (Tabaczynski Brasher). She left unexpectedly and peacefully in the comfort of her home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2005. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Brasher. Surviving are: her devoted husband Jerry, a police officer in Kettering where they lived throughout the forty years of their marriage; son Scott Geisel and his wife Diana of Centerville; two grandsons Grant and Gavin; her sister Joan Greenwood and her husband James of Cincinnati; her brother George Brasher and his wife Loretta of Beavercreek. As well as being a devoted grandmother to her grandsons, Carol was a delightfully involved aunt to her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Carol was an outgoing, vivacious, generous, thoughtful woman to all - family, friends, and acquaintances - sensitive and responsive to the needs of each. Carol had many artistic talents, including designing and creating beautiful seasonal and holiday floral arrangements. Many will know of her beautiful creations from showings throughout the city. Carol was a firm believer in the goodness of God, learning from her own mother how to be strong in her faith. Carol was dedicated to the well-being of her own mother while she was still alive. Carol was an avid gardener, nurturing her beautiful plantings and sharing with all. She was an animal lover who cared for her own pets and tended to homeless animals, as well. Carol and her husband Jerry traveled throughout the world, making lasting friends wherever they visited. Carol never met a stranger! She always left you with a warm, loving feeling within, lifting your heart from any dismay. "Thank You" to all who were part of Carol's life and God Bless you all. Carol is with her Maker and her mother now. She sleeps in peace. We will greatly miss her. Her spirit will be in our hearts. Carol, you gave us many joyful and loving memories to keep in our hearts forever. We will all be together in God's home and in God's time. The family receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2005 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave. and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2005at the Church of the Ascension on Woodman Drive with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Private interment David's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive., Kettering, Ohio 45420.

Dearest Carol,

My sister, my friend...forever together, you will always remain "younger than I" in heart, in mind, in spirit, and in my memory. I love you and will truly miss your lively company until we come together, once more, with our dear Mother.

Love from your "older" sister,

Joan

Jerry, Scott and Family

We just found out about Carol. We could hardly believe it. What a shock. She was a doll, such a delighful, wonderful person. We first met you folks when you were our son Chucks little league coach. It was after Carol hired me at Durrell that I really knew her. She was a wonderful boss and friend. She made going to work a pleasure. She will be truly missed.

Nick pulled up the Obituary for me. It was perfectly stated.

We are so sorry for your loss here on earth. Yes, we will all met again in our Wonderful New Home. God Bless,

Nick and Marlene Dascalos

Our hearts are breaking in our loss. Carol was like a sister, more than an aunt, more than a friend. Always the life of our get-togethers and the family rally-er.

Edited from my reading at your mass, words that warm me:

"God has tried her and found her worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved her.... She is in peace, ... and she shall dart about us as sparks in stubble."

I unpacked my Christmas ornaments last night and found the beautiful little round angel you made, and gave to me for Kylie last year. I must have kissed it a dozen times. I've placed it by our "Mother's Day Garden Party Girls" picture, where you held my gloved hand; you look so beautiful in that picture, your eyes are haunting. It's right by my door where I walk in every day, where I can see us all together, just as you had never gone from us and just as we will all be together again one fine day.

I love you always and you live in my heart as I wait for that day.

Love, love, love and more love,

Laura

Jerry, Scott & Di, My heart goes out to all of you. Carol is so special to me. She was not only my aunt, she's my friend. We will miss her more than we can ever express. She meant the world to Tara & Hannah. Thank you Carol for all you have given us, the laughter, the smiles, the friendship . . . the true meaning of family. We love all of you and the closeness of our family will continue year after year because of her.

Dear Jerry,

My deepest condolences for your loss. I was at the Vatican when I found out and a mass will be said at St. Peter's in memory of Carol. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and the rest of the family. Carol will no doubt be looking in on you from above and might even be able to help the Cubs pull some close ones out- if you ask nicely! =) I hope to see you and the rest of the family when I get home in May. God bless!!

Gerry and Scott,

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I remember when Carol would be outside watching Scott play "police officer" when he was little. I would always see her tending her plants and smiling. May god watch over you and your families.

Jerry,Scott,Dianne and Family,

I can't tell you what a shock it was last Sunday when I learned of Carol's passing. We just saw her last Friday night at Gilly's where Scott's band played and again the next day at Ascenion's craft show. Carol was the most genuine person, always making you feel important, always talking about her husband, son and precious grandchildren. She really had a zest for life, like she couldn't take in enough. I know what it is to lose the most improtant person in your life; having lost my own husband suddenly and it just takes time to get over it. But what beautiful memories you all have and no one can take them away, you'll never lose them. We have lost her body ,but her love and heart will live in you all. I pray for all of you and ask God to Bless you and keep you near to him in the days ahead. You have many friends and family to lean on; don't be afraid or hesitant to do that because they will be there for you and comfort you. Heaven has a very special Angel named Carol and you'll see her again.

My prayers are with you to carry on as Carol would have wanted you to do.

Sincerely,

Sharon Steven's(Mary Lou Geisel's sister)

Gerry, Scott, and Di and Family,

Nine months ago, Me and my moms world changed forever, and I know yours did also, with the death of Jerry. In the last nine months, you, Carol, Scott an Di, have been there for us. Like Jesus tending to his flock, you guys took us, and helped us through. Cooking us Dinner, Calling every once in a while, or just being there to talk, it all really has helped me and mom to find our way in this difficult time. Now, its your turn, If you EVER NEED ANYTHING, you know you can call, or stop by anytime. My dad (Jerry), loved you two (Gerry/Scott) so much. You wern't just fellow officers, you were friends. Scott, your mom Loved to hear you sing and was so proud of you. Her feet and heart, will ALWAYS be groovin' to the sound of 8 Steps Below. We were all Lucky to know her, and be touched by her warmth. Gerry/Scott, that day when were all standing at the pearly gates waiting to go in, Carol will be out front greeting us, as if we haven't gone a day without her.

From me and my mom,

We love you guys, and are praying for you.

Ah, Jerry, Our hearts are so sad. The five years we have known the two of you seem like a lifetime of friendship. The memories are gushing out. I explode in laugher and cry in pain at the loss of a great friend whom I will miss for the rest of my life. I will relish in the memories of our ever lasting friendship.

I remember when we met in London five short years ago. On that first day of our 16 day tour the crazyness of our PMS tour guide and Carol looking at us and saying lets not let her ruin our day "Let's Go". That day was the beginning of a great and wonderful friendship.

We love you Jerry and our heart our with you and your family.
