MASSIE, Catherine Jeanne Age 89, of Troy, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Koester Pavilion in Troy. She was born on March 3, 1928 in Troy to the late Eugene and Loretta (Siler) Smick. Jeanne is survived by four children and spouses: Tom and Debbie Massie of Fairborn, Mary Ann Massie of Ashland, OR, Susan and Bill Liddy of Piqua and Beth and Rick Smallwood of Conover; one brother: Joe Smick of Tipp City; five grandchildren: Katie Vasil, Andrew Christian, Troy Massie, Jill Massie and Sam Smallwood; and four great grandchildren: Rowan, Harper and Fallon Vasil, and Adyson Butcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Smick. Jeanne was a 1946 graduate of Troy High School. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy. Jeanne was also a member of Troy Senior Citizens. Jeanne served as Miami County Deputy Registrar from 1983-1993. She was an officer and active member of ODRA while serving Miami County. Jeanne was active in the Democratic Party for many years. She loved playing cards and having lunch with her classmates. Jeanne was an artist and former owner of Red Brick Loft. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Rev. Fr. James Duell as Celebrant. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.
