Dr. Fitzmartin cared for me in 2016 after my critical illness. She explained in layman's terms what my body had been through, and what I might experience in the weeks & months to come as I recovered. That knowledge and humanity was very comforting as I tried to comprehend my near death experience. I will never forget her.
