News Death Notice
MITCHELL, Mr. Corey A. age 34, a lifelong resident of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly May 29, 2010. He attended Jefferson Twp. High School, received his mechanics license in Philadelphia, PA. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Lizze Mae Cranford and aunt, Deborah Cranford. Survivors include his mother, Carol (James) Gilmore, Columbus, OH; father, Clyde (Genise) Mitchell, Dayton; beautiful twins, Treyesha & Trevon Mitchell; brothers, Phillip (Tiffinia) Mitchell, Lake Charles, LA, Michael, Clyde Jr. & Scott; sister, Ashleigh Burns, Columbus, OH; grandparents, Henry Cranford, Dayton & Phyllis Thomas, Springfield, OH; aunts and uncles, Don (Darlene) Cotton, Derrick (Sheila) Cranford, Dale (Beverly) Cranford, Clarence Mitchell, all of Dayton; very close cousins, Juan, Daniel & Shawn Cranford, Keisha Searcy, D.J. Cranford, Janielle & Darnell Davis, all of Dayton; many family and friends too numerous to mention. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, June 4, 2010 at the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue. Rev. Andre Hayes officiating. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery. Visitation 10 am Friday at the funeral home until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help the Mitchell twins. Online condolences may be expressed at [email protected]

It's been some years and I had no idea my buddy had passed til I seen his mother's story on the news. I was floored because Corey was my buddy.. we had first job at Burger King together in Columbus we stayed friends for so long cm dubb was my friend ..We lost contact for some years but when I seen he passed it hurt my soul. Corey, I just found out about your untimley death. It's so crazy because you just crossed my mind a couple of days ago. The last time I seen you we talked about our kids. You were a good friend, and I will never forget all the good time we had back in high school and as we became young adults. I'll pray for your children and pray that God gives them peace. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't sit and look at a pic of you or even just think about you. I still can't get over the tragedy that has happen in our lives. Your kids are doing fine and your mom is doing a wonderful job of keeping everything together. Its been a rough 2 months but peace is coming upon us.
