Daniel Brigner Obituary
Brigner, Daniel Eugene "Dan"
Known lovingly by all as "Dan," he passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton. Born on October 14, 1950, Dan grew up in the Dayton View neighborhood, where his love for life, laughter, and connection first took root. He graduated from Colonel White High School and proudly served in the Ohio Air National Guard. Dan found deep purpose and joy in his work at Miami Valley Hospital and Far Oaks Orthopedists. His compassion, humor, and genuine care left lasting impressions on both patients and colleagues. He had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for, traits that defined not only his career but every relationship in his life-preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Juanita Brigner (Turner). Dan is survived by his three children, Brooks Brigner, Joe Brigner, and Christi Brigner, as well as eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mike Brigner (Frieda), Perry Brigner, and Coni Brigner; as well as three nieces, a nephew, and four great nieces. He was a tender, adoring, and devoted father, as well as a proud uncle and grandfather, affectionately known as "Papaw Dan." Dan was the life of the party, with a warm smile, a sharp wit, and a heart full of kindness. An excellent storyteller and master of the well-timed joke, he found true joy in making others laugh. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially when mushroom hunting with his father or his children, and he knew everything there was to know about cars and motorcycles-knowledge he passed on freely and joyfully. His Celebration of Life will be held on what would have been his 75th birthday, October 14, 2025, from 5-7 pm at the Paw Paw Camp Pavilion in Hills and Dales Metro Park- one of Dan's favorite places, filled with memories made with his father and children. Instead of flowers, the family invites you to honor Dan by telling a story, sharing a laugh, or taking a peaceful walk outside in his memory.
