Daniel Gray Obituary

News Death Notice

GRAY, Daniel E. 78, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010. He was born to the late Chauncey and Mary Jane Gray on November 27, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio. Daniel was a talented engraver and veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elinor Newland. Daniel is survived by his brother Paul Gray of Englewood, Ohio; his nephews U.S. Navy Captain David Gray of Naples, Italy; Vance Newland, Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah; his nieces Mary Jane Latham of Seattle, Washington; Dawn Gray of Carroll, Ohio; and Diana Gray of Conyers, Georgia. Our family would like to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff of Grafton Oaks Nursing Center for their warm and loving care of Daniel. Daniel made a noble gift of his remains to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University so that future physicians will learn and train others with the knowledge they have gained. "Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling, from glen to glen, and down the mountain side, the summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying, 'tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, 'tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow. Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so."
