Mrs. Wright was one of my two favorite teachers in my entire schooling career. I've smiled reading the number of responses that expressed how impactful she was for so many. I was introduced to a love for English education, class and grace with Mrs. Wright. She and her bestie teacher friend, Mrs. Brown, were the epitome of the kind of women I aspired to become. My career in education has been modeled heavily on the kind of love Mrs. Wright gave to me as a teen. We have surely lost a true angel. I am thankful that, though the last time we crossed paths she didn't recall my name, she still smiled that beautiful smile and gave me a compliment, the way she always did. My deepest condolences to your dear family Darlene Wright, rest well.

Darlene was such a leader in the early years of Muse Machine, which was how I met her. She and her best friend Donna King were mentors to me, especially when navigating NYC during Muse Machine teacher training visits. Rest in Peace, Darlene!

Mrs. Wright was one of my favorite teachers! She was also my Muse Machine Advisor. Mrs Wright was quick witted and always did her best to bring out the best in me. I am glad I got to see her some years ago and hug her. She will be missed and I´m praying for her family, friends, students and all who knew and loved her.

My deepest condolences! English was one of my difficult subjects. I was a wiz at math and technical classes (left vs right brain maybe. I don'tknow) All I know Mrs Wright was the only English teacher, including high-school, undergraduate and graduate school that was skillful enough to breakdown the English language in a way my limited logical mind could understand and make it stick. I'm a 64 year old retired Senior Executive, I've directed research operations for EPA and lead the Air Forces nuclear system engineering program, and I can't tell you the hundreds perhaps thousands of times I used her technique for understanding and remembering dangling particpals , "Where are you at ........ right before the at". I loved Mrs. Wright. She was my security response to "Who's your favorite teacher". smh, I've said too much! What I'm trying to say is she left a profound mark on life and will irreplaceable be missed. GODS blessings and grace to her family and love ones during this tremendous loss.
