Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Becky (Ziesmer) Smith; 3 children, Chad (Mitzi) Smith, John (Erin) Smith, and Jen (Tim) Bartell. He dearly loved his 6 grandchildren, Alyssa, Hannah, Samantha, Aiden, Logan and Avery; one sister, Dawn (Neil) Miller; sisters-in-law, Sandra Newman and Kathie Ziesmer; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Rick Lohnes, who he said was the younger brother he never had. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 in First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston. Visitation will be held starting at 1:00pm with the service to follow at 3pm. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton for the heartfelt care they showed him. The Ehnie Family

October 12, 2024

There will never be another Dave Smith. He and Becky raised three WONDERFUL CHILDREN. Anytime you seen Dave, he always stopped to talk and see if you were doing ok. We had daughters that were just two weeks apart in age. We seen the Smith´s at all school functions. Dave always asking if he could help out. Dave will be missed by all especially his family. It was a pleasure and a privilege knowing Dave Smith. Our deepest condolences to Becky, the boys and wives, Jenn and Tim and all the grandchildren. Rest in Peace Dave. Thank You for your friendship. Rick and Sheri Ehnie
