News Death Notice
SMITH, Jr., Dennis J. Age 79, of Dayton, departed this life Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born January 18, 1936 in Carrollton, GA to the late Dennis Smith and Mary Crowder Smith. He later relocated to Dayton, Ohio and shortly thereafter united with Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a part of the Senior Ministry, Men's Ministry and Adult Sunday School Class. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bonnie Nell Perry Smith, son, David Smith, devoted caregiver, Thelma Render, and brother, Leroy Taylor. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, 2819 W. Second Street. Rev. B.L. Peterson officiating. Visitation from 9-11 am. Family will receive friends from 10-11 am. Final disposition cremation. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Special thanks to Mary Scott Nursing Center and Hospice of Dayton.
