DONALD JACKSON Obituary

JACKSON, Donald A.

Donald A. Jackson passed away December, 26, 2020. Donald was born May 14, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Charlie and Annie Ruth (Copes) Jackson. He is survived by his brother, Ezzard Charles (Roena) Jackson and sister, Anita (Michael) Lyles; nephews, Kareem, Kelly (Erica) and Charles Jackson and Manzell Lyles; nieces, Sanita Shackleford, Utee (Wiltz) Duncan and Jeshaiah Lyles; devoted soulmate, Patty Miller who loved and cared for him; stepson Dee (Lisa) Miller; special nephew, Rodney White; best friends, Lorenzo (Renee) Cash, Homer (Burdetta) Amey and Mustafaa (Gladys) Islam and a host of relatives and friends. Donald was a member of Greater Grace Temple. He retired on disability from Cargill, Inc. in 1995 after a debilitating stroke. Donald was an avid sports fan and his favorite team was The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Donald had a beautiful personality and infectious smile. With all that he endured after a life altering stroke, he never complained. Throughout numerous surgeries, hospital stays, and dialysis treatments 3 times per week, he continued to be grateful and optimistic, never asking "why me". His life was a wonderful testament to his faith in God and he will be loved and missed by family and friends. Due to COVID restrictions, a private memorial service will be held. Arrangements by Robert C. Henry-Clark Funeral Home.
